Saturday, December 31, 2011 Every year has it's ups and downs, it's challenges and rewards. What you always look foward to is a new beginning and hope that the Holiday Season brings you some Happy events to indicate that everything is on the upswing.

2011 nears it's conclusion with several happy events for the Union Fire Company and it's members.

First was the wedding of Firefighter/Vice President Will Kane to Miss Erin Hulme on Sunday, November 27, 2011. Our best wishes to the happy couple for many years of wedded bliss. Welcome to the family Erin.

Next was the Christmas Eve engagement of Firefighter Cindy Harris to Firefighter/Luietenant Evan Carmichael. With the assistance of Santa and the men and women of William Penn Fire Company, Evan took a knee in the presence of Cindy's family and "popped" the question. After three minutes of head nodding and tears, Cindy said yes. At least this is one couple where time at the firehouse shouldn't be an issue. Congratulations kids.

Finally, and most likely the best way to end a year, Firefighter Matt Thomas and his wife Joanna welcomed into the world Mason Matthew Thomas at 3:23 pm on December 29th. Mason weighed in at 7 lbs 1 oz and by all accounts is perfect in everyway. Congratulations to the new parents. One of the best qoutes ever is " A baby is God's way of saying the world should go on."
